Microsoft Consulting Services developed the Vaccine Registration and Administration Solution, or VRAS, which advances the capabilities of their COVID-19 solution portfolio. It enables compliant administration of resident assessment, registration and phased scheduling for vaccine distribution.
The solution enables the tracking and reporting of immunization progress through secure data exchange that utilizes industry standards, such as Health Level Seven, Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources and open APIs. When fully implemented, the VRAS scheduling system makes it much easier for residents to sign up for appointments at the site that is closest to them, including those in neighboring jurisdictions.
In addition to VRAS, RSM offers a Disease and Outbreak Management Solution that can be tied into VRAS for additional vaccine and disease management capabilities. The solution offers full disease tracking and surveillance functionality with a design that is intended to connect with and be informed by social services technologies.
The Disease and Outbreak Management Solution is designed for use in connection with electronic health records, laboratory information management systems and other data sources. Additionally, it is designed to integrate with other health and human services technology systems to streamline and simplify how public sector entities, like state health departments, provide essential services, track service delivery, manage service outcomes across departments or agencies, and collect data that helps them better serve their constituents over time.
